Celebrating the Art of Label 228

Alaina Joy

A Tribute to Street Art and Collaboration

This Friday, February 28, 2025, JAMM Gallery is proud to present the CLUB 228 Exhibition, a vibrant showcase of street art that celebrates the creative spirit of artists who utilize Label 228. Label 228, the United States Postal Service's Priority Mail address label, has become a canvas for street artists worldwide, offering a unique medium that is both accessible and versatile.

The Significance of Label 228 in Street Art

Label 228 holds a special place in the street art community due to its widespread availability and distinctive design. These labels are free, portable, and quick and easy to exhibit, offering artists the chance to spend more time creating their work than if they were to paint and write directly on walls, vehicles, and public objects. Their large white space and adhesive backing make them ideal for artists to express their creativity in public spaces, contributing to the rich tapestry of urban art.
